This is the outfit I wore to work the other day, and was repeatedly told I looked like a walking and talking Valentine’s Day, so I decided I’d take advantage of the fact I looked like Cupid and share the outfit deets with you ladies since the big day is only a couple of weeks away! I’ve always been a big Valentine’s Day person, not necessarily because of the reason behind it, but because all of the decorations are adorable! Target is currently running some great deals on their Valentine’s Day decor and candy (who doesn’t love candy?). You can find the deals here — Spend $25, save 10% on Valentines decorations & party supplies ONLINE ONLY. Valid 1/29-2/4. Get your shopping on.
My purse, my purse, my purse! Bet you couldn’t tell that I’m obsessed with it or anything. I bought it (well technically, my boyfriend bought it) back in November of last year, and have been carrying it ever since. I am a connoisseur of purses and like to change up at least once a month, so it’s a huge deal that I’ve been carrying this one as long as I have. I love all things maroon, if that wasn’t obvious enough already. It is such an in color right now in the fashion world, and very easily matches a lot of different outfits. If you carry your whole life in your purse, like I do, then this one is perfect for you. It has openings on the front and the back, that I like to throw things like my phone and keys in, because it’s very easy to get them back out. The inside has a zipper pocket, and then two other pockets, so there is SO much room! If I haven’t sold you on it yet let me send you over the edge — it was only $40! It is from Charming Charlie’s, which is where I get an abundance of my purses. They have such a wide range of styles and colors, and their purses range anywhere from $35-$45, so if you’re in the market for a new purse, go check them out!
T-shirt dresses have become a necessity in every girl’s closet. I have long sleeved ones, short sleeved ones, gray ones, black ones… and the list goes on. They are so comfy, you can dress them up or down, and you can even decide if you want to wear them as a shirt or a dress. What more could you ask for in one piece of clothing? I purchased this specific one from a local boutique called Makae’s. I have bought a couple of items from this boutique Facebook page, and have loved every single one of them. They are all great quality clothes at prices you can’t find at any other boutique! Under my dress is a lace extender that, I’m embarrassed to say, I wear entirely too much. The days I want to wear a cute shirt, but am feeling too girly to wear just pants with it, I’ll stick this baby underneath. I purchased it off of Varagesale, which is an app for buying and selling locally. This is just one of my many precious finds off of there.

Faux Pearl Necklace: Amazon. You can wear this doubled up, like I have, as a choker, or knotted. Endless options with this piece! This is only a little over $7 and feels exactly like a real pearl necklace, heaviness and all. (EXACT one here — BABEYOND ART DECO Fashion Faux Pearls Flapper Beads Cluster Long Pearl Necklace 55″)
Monogrammed “A” Necklace: Local Boutique. I’m a white girl, so of course I have my fair share of monogrammed jewelry. (similar one here — Monogram Necklace Sterling Silver Personalized Name Necklace (18 Inches))
Lip Color: Gerard Cosmetics “Plum Crazy” Hydra-Matte Liquid Lip. Until I discovered liquid lips I would never wear lipstick. Liquid lips have changed the game for me. They stay on all day, and you can’t even feel it! This particular brand is my favorite. It does not transfer, and their line offers some of the prettiest colors. (Find all colors, including mine, here — Gerard Cosmetics Serenity Hydra-Matte Liquid Lipstick)
Side note: I have just recently started a VSCO account! Besides my passion for writing, I have one for photography as well. I will be posting many pictures of outfits and makeup looks there that will not be featured on here, so make sure to check them out. My username is @alyssarmessina.
Hope y’all liked this outfit, and it gave you a little inspiration for what you’re thinking about wearing on Valentine’s day. If you don’t have a significant other, splurge on something for a friend or relative to let them know how much they’re loved!
